Racing Cancelled on April 30

Jim Blackburn
Racing was cancelled at 9:30am ahead of the April 30 scheduled starts due to high wind forecasts and low water temperatures. It turned out to be a wise call. While conditions at the Club seemed reasonable, the southwesterly wind direction masked the true conditions on the main part of the lake. They were as advertised. Winds at 25mph and white caps. Many limbs were floating in the lake increasing the hazards one would have experienced. Getting boats off of the lifts would also have been a challenge due to the numerous branches laying on lift frames and floating in the harbor.
