Lift party information

Good afternoon fellow CLSA sailors

Your dock and boat lift are in sections of the harbor where members usually remove their lifts for the winter.  This CLSA email distribution list has been created specifically for you.

As we prepare to open a new sailing season, the club has scheduled lift parties. These are listed on the club website on the event calendar page. Lift parties are scheduled for:

Sunday, March 28 at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 1:00 PM

Saturday, April 3 at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 1:00 PM

Saturday, April 10 at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 1:00 PM

There are a limited number of spots available Sunday, April 11 at 9:00 AM

We encourage you to sign up for one of these 2-hour shifts on the club website. Each shift can have up to 5 lift owners sign up. Lift owners (or their representative) need to assist through the entire 2-hour shift as members work together to place lifts back in the water. (No lifts will be placed unless the lift owner or a designee participates.)

These are the only lift parties being scheduled by the club. By condensing the schedule, we will have enough help to effectively manage the work. The number of shifts scheduled on these dates also gives us the capacity to place 50 lifts in the water (which is greater than the number of lifts that need to be moved).

In response to member requests, this year we are providing more structure for the lift parties. There will be a chairperson/team leader and 2 helpers each day. This will help the work go smoothly and with minimal difficulties.

If you are a lift owner and would like work party credit for this event, you need to work all three shifts on a given day, (including the placement of your lift). If you would like to volunteer to work all three shifts on a given day, please send me an email (commodore@clsa.club) so we can schedule you. (Do not sign up on the website.)

Lift owners just signing up for a 2-hour shift to place their own lift will not receive work party credit.

We are developing a new boat lift apparatus that will be attached to the pink lady for these work parties. That equipment is intended to simplify the work. It will only be available at the club designated lift parties. Members that wish to move their lift at times other than the scheduled lift parties will have to move them as has been done in the past.

If none of this information applies to you and you would like to be removed from this distribution list, you can do so by opening your profile on the website, selecting "additional member data", and scrolling to the bottom of that screen. Change your lift party email preference to "no".

Thank you.
