Greetings!

Summer has arrived!

The juniors have been at the lake all week and are wrapping up with their paper plate awards  as I write this message to the club.  By all accounts they had a great week. Look for our juniors on the water with us each Sunday now for the rest of the summer.

This coming Monday the Ohio Department of Natural Resources is holding a formal opening of the Cowan Lake nature center.  The Friends group and a number of CLSA members were a significant part of this effort.  If you are available, join ODNR director Mary Mertz and the local part staff in the formal opening of the center.  More information is available here:  Nature Center Invitation.

Next weekend (June 19 and 20) CLSA is hosting the annual introduction to sailing course. This program is offered to introduce nonmembers to the sport of sailing. We start at 9:00 AM on Saturday, spend time inside learning the basics and then go out sailing in the afternoon.  If you are able to come help us and take a couple of prospects sailing for a couple of hours in the afternoon, please send me an email at commodore@clsa.club.

The class is from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday and 9:00 AM to Noon on Sunday. If you have a friend that you would like to introduce to sailing, encourage them to sign up.

As announced at the Memorial Day party at the lake, we will be taking the gantry off of the pink lady in the next week.  This will make the Pink Lady more useful on the water for rescue and support.  The gantry will be reinstalled at the end of September.  If you need to move or adjust a lift in the coming months, please contact our harbormaster or me and we will coordinate with you.

Come join us at the lake. The sailing has been fun!
