As an incentive, everyone who brings a friend will get a raffle ticket for a Labor Day drawing to win a bottle of wine from Valley Vineyards! The more weekends you have guests, the more raffle tickets you get! Please make an extra effort to share our lake!

June is Training Month!

On June 21 & 22 we will host our annual introduction-to-sailing course

This is open to the public as well as club members.  The goal in this course is to introduce individuals to the great sport of sailing.  We start with indoor sessions to discuss various aspects of sailing, including equipment, basics of why sailboats work, weather, and safety issues.  In the afternoon we have attendees go out with club members for a sail to see how everything works.  On Sunday morning we convene again for a review and additional conversation about sailing as well as address questions from attendees.

No experience is required – everyone is welcome.  The only requirement is to sign up in advance on the club website.  If you have friends or neighbors that may be interested, encourage them to sign up and join us.  Cost for the event is $25 per family to cover the cost of supplies.

The very next weekend (June 28 & 29) we will host our annual boot camp training weekend.

This weekend is an opportunity for club members to get assistance sailing their boats, and get more comfortable sailing.

This course is great for new skippers and for crew who want to know more about sailing the boat.  (Ask yourself . . . if my skipper went overboard, could I maneuver the boat back to pick him or her up?) (We won’t address whether you want to do so or not . . .)

Sailing is a great sport, but the learning curve can be challenging.  If you want help reaching the next level, boot camp is for you.  This is a program where we meet with members, listen to your questions and then customize our coaching (onshore and on-the-water) to take a deeper dive into helping you understand and learn the specific sailing skills you want to accomplish.

The program starts Saturday morning at 9:00 am and will end before 4:00.  The program resumes on Sunday morning at 9:00.
